WATCH: Toddler cheats death as “careless” mom left him in moving car
A 2-year-old toddler, on Thursday, nearly met his untimely death after his mother,Olaore Yetunde allegedly put him in harms way.
The little child was reportedly left in a car alone by Yetunde, a resident of Adetoro Adelaja street, Magodo, Lagos, when she dashed into her apartment to pick up an item without properly bringing the car to a halt by using the handbrake.
Yetunde, according to the police, drover her Hyundai 4-wheel-drive SUV into her compound at the aforementioned address.
The police, in a statement, made known that before she could come back to the car, it had already drifted out through one side of the gate that was left open after she drove inside.
The car further drifted across the road and slid off the main road into a 20 feet gully with the bottom of the car facing up after it somersaulted severally.
The child, who sustained injuries in the head and arm was, however, rescued by the Lagos State Command Rapid Response Squad patrol team stationed near the scene of incident.
