WATCH: Moment Saraki declared to run for president
August 30, 2018
Senate President Bukola Saraki declared on Thursday that he’ll contest for the presidential seat in the 2019 election.
The former Kwara State Governor’s announcement was met with huge cheers by the audience as he questioned the present administration’s style of governance.
Saraki promised to do things differently if elected, saying that Nigeria needs to have a “radical departure” from how things are currently.
“We must return the sanctity of the rule of law,” Saraki said, while addressing the Not Too Young To Run Movement in Abuja.
Saraki has to first defeat former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and former Kano Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso in the PDP primary election for the sole party ticket.
