WATCH: Fire razes Stanbic IBTC bank in Ikeja
Fire razed a section of the Stanbic IBTC bank in Allen, Ikeja area of Lagos Tuesday afternoon.
A Newsroom correspondent at the scene gathered that the fire started at the generator store of the building.
A resident told us “there was a lot of spilled diesel on the floor where the car was parked, and the fire started shortly after the the driver went inside the building.”
The resident added that the company that occupied the space before Stanbic also caught fire.
Fire services arrived to put out the fire shortly after. Two vans were available to quench the fire and some security member of Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Corps (LSNSC) as well as police officials were available to maintain order in the environment.
No life was lost to the incident, but a number of cars were damaged as they rushed to drive them out of the building.
