WATCH: “Come to our rescue” – Oguta, Imo residents sacked by flood plead with FG
Flood has sacked some residents of Oguta LGA in Imo State and destroyed their farmlands.
Several communities have become victims of flood that has occurred due to the overflow of the Orashi River and Oguta Lake. Many lives and properties worth billions have been lost.
Some of the victims of the flood disaster at Ezi Orsu and Anieze communities are reportedly sleeping on top of the Orashi River bridge that connects the area to the Akri Oil Flow Station, in a desperate attempt to escape from the rising flood waters.
The affected residents are desperately calling for help from the government to provide relief materials.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, last week, visited many affected communities in Anambra, Delta and promised that NEMA was distributing relief materials and food items to victims of flood.
