The United States economy recorded its strongest growth in two years during the third quarter, driven by steady consumer demand, robust business investment, and easing trade tensions.
According to data released Tuesday by the Bureau of Economic Analysis, inflation-adjusted gross domestic product (GDP) rose at an annualized rate of 4.3 percent. GDP measures the total value of goods and services produced within the country.
The latest figure surpassed most projections in a Bloomberg survey of economists and marked an acceleration from the 3.8 percent growth recorded in the previous quarter.
The stronger-than-expected performance reflects continued resilience across key sectors of the economy despite broader global uncertainties.
