Unemployed youths may have to work on farms to collect N5,000 stipend – Buhari
December 30, 2015
There’s no free meal in Freetown. That’s what Nigeria’s President Muhammad Buhari seem to be suggesting.
Buhari, in his first presidential media chat Wednesday, said unemployed youths may have to work on farms to qualify for the N5,000 stipend he promised.
The president had promised during electioneering campaigns to pay N5,000 allowance to all unemployed youths in the country.
But it seems fulfilling the promise will require some creativity on the part of Buhari and his government.
“We have to look at the promise of N5,000 allowance even if people have to work in the farm to earn it,” Buhari said..
