Two Nigerian brothers allegedly connived with American actor, Jussie Smollett to stage his homophobic attack

A new twist to the previously reported case of homophobic attack against American actor, Jussie Smollett has emerged as Chicago Police allude that two Nigerian siblings were paid to stage the attack.

Smollett who is famous for his role as Jamal Lyon in the American sitcom, Empire, allegedly paid the duo of Ola Osundairo and Abimbola Osundairo $3,500 to carry out a fake assault on him in order to elicit sympathy from his fans and the film industry.

The assault which was reported as a hate crime by two men who attacked him amid racist and homophobic slurs on a street near his apartment in Chicago turned out to be a stunt pulled by Smollett to salvage his career as his contract was on the brink of termination.

The truth was revealed on Tuesday when the two brothers finally appeared before the grand jury, on the requeat of Chicago Police. and disclosed that the attack was Smollett’s idea.

When the question of his complicity in the attack was raised last weekend,  his lawyers,  Victor P. Henderson and Todd S. Pugh said that their client denied the accusation vehemently.

As it stands, Smollett has been invited by the police to further ascertain his role in the attack, but his lawyers claim that he is angered and traumatized by the allegation.

The two brothers were released by the police without charges after they admitted they were paid by the actor to stage the attack.
