Tunde Bakare berates DSS, blames the organization for the Benue killings

In the course of his ministration on Sunday, January 7, Pastor Tunde Bakare, the General Overseer of Latter Rain Assembly, said those putting up what he calls ‘deliberate sinful silence’ on the Benue killings will pay for it.

Following the declaration to contest for 2019 presidential election, the renowned clergyman berated the Department of State Services, DSS, over its alleged silence on the killings perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen in Benue State.

Bakare maintained that the DSS was guilty.

His words; “We cannot keep quiet while hardened murderers and criminals fill our land with the crimes of blood. That would be DSS, deliberate sinful silence, and I think secret service is guilty of that.

“The brutal murder going on in Benue state and other parts of Nigeria is very atrocious and wicked. There will be consequences of this dastard murder. Everyone involved in one way or the other, either overtly or covertly, shall pay for it.”

Meanwhile Kaduna state governor, Nasir el-Rufai joined worshippers at Bakare’s ministry in the same service.

El-Rufai, who was one of the persons who pleaded with the pastor to run alongside President Muhammadu Buhari in 2011, came into the church auditorium, while Bakare was preaching.

As at the time of this report, neither el-Rufai nor Bakare, have disclosed the intention behind the governor’s visit.
