February 12, 2016
About 100 people were injured, Thursday morning, when a Cairo-bound train derailed and collided with a cement barrier at a rail intersection.
Ahram Online reported that the train’s brakes had failed to respond.
The train, travelling from Aswan to Cairo, was left hanging several meters in the air after the accident.
More than 40 ambulances were rushed to the scene of the accident.
An official was quoted as saying that the injuries sustained were minor ones and that was because the train was not moving too fast..
