Tragedy everywhere? Nope. Here are 4 great news that made Sallah sweet
By Rotimi Akinola
Hundreds died in a stampede in Saudi Arabia where the 2015 Hajj is in full gear…and Africans (some of them Nigerians) are being blamed for the tragedy.
Boko Haram terrorists killed an unknown number of people in Borno.
A man in Abuja reportedly took his own life after “realising he couldn’t afford Sallah ram.”
We got enough bad news during Eid Mubarak celebration, Thursday.
However, yesterday wasn’t all about the bad. We believe there’s only one side to Sallah, the good side.
Here are three good news that gladdened our hearts and made us scream “happy Eid Mubarak!”
One.

Nigeria’s war on Boko Haram is moving forward. Many members of the terror group have downed their deadly tools and switched over to Nigeria’s side. At least 200 surrendered to Nigeria’s military on Sallah Day. They will be de-radicalised.
Two.

Remember Olu Falae was abducted on Monday? Well, he was freed during the Eid Mubarak celebrations. We’re not interested in whether a ransom was paid, or whether the police rescued him in America commando style as IGP Aresa’s claiming . Man was in bondage, now he’s free. That’s what makes us smile…and it happened on Sallah Day.
Three.

Talking about religious tolerance and inter-religious cooperation…a pro-Christian group fed and clothed less privileged Muslims in Lagos yesterday. Toluwase Olaniyan told Newsroom We Care Initiative did it to make those folks feel loved. That’s what we’re talking about. We can’t wait for pro-Muslim groups to reciprocate the deed this Christmas.
Four.
There’s not a single chance we’ll ignore the most delicious meat in the world. Sallah meat! Nothing tastes better! You think otherwise?
