"The Year of the Baddie": Ayeni and Falodun to Unpack 2025’s Biggest Consumer Trends

On Friday, February 7, 2025, Ayeni Adekunle, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BHM, and Femi Falodun, the company’s Executive Director, will engage in a high-profile conversation titled “The Year of the Baddie.”

The virtual event is designed for professionals interested in consumer behaviour, marketing, communication, public relations, and those working within the media industry.

With years of expertise managing the strategic communications of some of Africa’s biggest brands—including MTN, MultiChoice, and DStv—Ayeni will provide insights into the evolving global landscape and, more importantly, how brands can strategically position themselves to capitalize on these monumental changes.

“Artificial intelligence will continue to democratize enterprise and consumer technology, and we’ve already started to experience its mainstream impact on search, news, apps, and media at a consumer level,” he wrote in his recently published opinion piece, ‘The Year of the Baddie: Some Quick Thoughts on 2025 and Beyond.’

On the shift in consumer technology and behaviour, he added:

“With China pushing new operating systems through Huawei, Apple integrating artificial intelligence, and smart homes and wearables now fully advanced, what you’re holding in your hands at the end of the year may no longer be the traditional mobile phone. If you consider how search engines and maps transformed entire industries, then you might appreciate the scale of what’s coming.”
