Suspected fraudsters in trouble over N2.9m fraud
Two suspected fraudsters, Tokunbo Oguntayo and Ajakaiye Ayodele, were arraigned before an Oyo State High Court in Ibadan, on Friday.
Oguntayo and Ayodele are facing a 6-count charge bordering on conspiracy, obtaining under false pretense and stealing.
They were said to have, sometimes in November 2015, attempted to defraud a company, Bankayode Venture Nigeria Limited, of N2.9m with claims that it was the cost price of a truck of 33,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit which had been secured for them.
Both suspects pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Justice Akintola ordered the defense counsel to file the applications for their bail separately and adjourned the case to June 22 for trial.
Both Oguntayo and Ayodele were remanded at the Federal Prison, Agodi, pending when their bail applications are brought before the court.
