Six Nigerians fall into extreme poverty per minute due to deepening economic crisis
Nigeria is on a free fall to extreme poverty, U.S based Brookings Institution reports.
The report reveals that six people in Nigeria are getting impoverished by the minute, as the country moves to solidify its position as the nation with the highest number of people living in extreme poverty.
The country which officially exited recession late 2017 is still struggling to create any significant economic breakthrough.
As it stands presently, over 87 million people are living in extreme poverty and many more are joining that number with no end in sight.
Although Nigeria is regarded as the giant of Africa because of its large population, deep oil wells and having the highest GDP in the continenent, this wealth is not visible in the lives of its citizens.
Nigerians will go to the polls tomorrow to choose who will lead the nation for the next four years.
The chief contenders in the race are the incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari of APC and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar of PDP.
