“Shun violence” – Sanwo-Olu tells supporters as campaign officially kicks off

The campaign for gubernatorial positions in next year’s poll officially commences on Saturday (tomorrow).

Lagos governorship candidate Babajide Sanwo-Olu has implored all citizens to exercise restraint in engaging in violence during the campaigns.

“As friends, family and political rivals go into passionate debates during this period, tempers will rise and fall,” the APC candidate said Friday evening.

“But one thing is for certain, we have but one Lagos.

“To our supporters, let us shun the politics of violence, aggressive conversation, hatred and bitterness. Let us remember that though we are divided in our choice of candidates, we are all united in our desire to see an even greater Lagos,” he said.

Sanwo-Olu, in his statement, also had a little message for his main opponent Jimi Agbaje.

“I may not be able to wish you victory, but I definitely wish you well,” he said.
