“Senseless” mother beats own baby to death for “refusing to eat”
After repeated attempts to feed her two-year-old son failed, a mother allegedly decided she had enough and figured death would be the appropriate punishment for the “disobedient” boy.
The toddler (names withheld) allegedly rejected one breakfast prepared by Zaidah, his 41-year-old mother.
Zaidah allegedly said the boy was too disobedient so she handed him the “capital punishment”.
The woman performed the deadly child abuse with the knowledge of her 46-year-old boyfriend, a court in Singapore where the shocking violence took place ruled on Tuesday.
Zaini Jamari, the boyfriend, was handed a 10-year jail tenure and 12 lashes of the cane.
Zaidah, the toddler’s mother, will spend the next 11 years of her life in prison District Judge Bala Reddy ruled.
Reddy described the couple’s action as “senseless brutality”.
Prosecutors related how over a five-week period last year, the couple punished the boy by making him stand for hours wearing only a nappy, kicking and slapping him whenever he got tired.
“For more than a month, the two of you in a ruthless and unrelenting manner inflicted severe torture on your two-year-old child who was unable to retaliate or defend himself,” Reddy said.
It was ruled that the shocking abuse led to the toddler’s untimely death..
