Russian couple play dead after learning of son’s plot to kill them over inheritance

A wealthy man and his wife, having learnt that their son is plotting to kill them, had to play dead as police foiled their son’s plot to assassinate them.

According to Russian police, the suspect was tricked into believing he had hired an assassin to murder his wealthy parents and ten year old sister in order to claim his inheritance.

Detectives reportedly found out about the alleged plot and staged the killing in the family home – even getting his parents to pretend they had been murdered.

The police said they then sent the mock murder scene pictures to the son, who had no idea of the undercover snare.

An officer, however, played the role of the hired assassin in the Russian resort of Sochi, a host city for this year’s FIFA World Cup.

The son had instructed the “contract killer’ on how and where his family should be murdered, it is alleged.

He was said to have drawn a floor plan, and indicated where security cameras were placed, and how to avoid guard dogs.

He agreed a fee with the undercover policeman for killing all three of his relatives, police said, and demanded to see pictures of his slain parents.

The man’s mother and father – “devastated” about their son’s alleged intent – played dead in the police mock-up and photographs of them, with blood gushing from “fatal” knife wounds, were taken.
