Russia Kills Three Generations in Ukraine Days After Kyiv Struck Nuclear Jets
A Russian drone tore through a home in the central Ukrainian city of Pryluky overnight, killing three generations of one family—grandmother, mother, and a one-year-old baby—in what Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned as another brutal strike on civilians.
The house, belonging to a local firefighting chief who was away responding to an earlier attack, was flattened. “His wife, daughter and one-year-old grandson were killed,” Zelensky said.
The strike killed five people in total and came just days after Ukraine’s daring drone operation reportedly destroyed several of Russia’s nuclear-capable military jets, intensifying what’s already been a grim stretch of escalation in the three-year war.

Photos from the site show thick smoke swallowing rooftops in the night, and by dawn, only skeletons of homes remained. In one image, a lone firefighter stands inside the burned-out frame of a house—his.
“Russia is constantly trying to buy time for itself to continue killing. When it does not feel strong enough condemnation and pressure from the world, it kills again,” Zelensky said after the attack.
“This is yet another reason to impose maximum sanctions and put pressure together,” he said. “We expect action from the United States, Europe, and everyone in the world who can really help change these terrible circumstances.”
Elsewhere, 18 people—including four children—were injured in a separate attack on Kharkiv, Ukraine’s Interior Minister confirmed.
