Rinji Bala Peter – In Memory Of Those Killed Illegally By The Nigerian Police

Rinji Bala, a 20-year-old student of the University of Jos (UNIJOS), was shot dead by a soldier attached to the Special Task Force (STF) Operation Safe Haven in Jos, Plateau State, on Tuesday May 12, 2020.
Rinji and five other friends were arrested by soldiers in Hwolshe community, Jos South, and were released later in the night. As they were leaving the military base, one of the soldiers opened fire on them.
The Nigerian Army in its reaction claimed the soldier who shot the deceased mistook him for a fleeing suspect and claimed the personnel had been arrested and detained.
