Prison Superintendent arrested for robbery in Enugu
Mr Collin Ugwu, a superintendent of the Nigerian Prison Service has been arrested by the police in Enugu for his alleged involvement in armed robbery.
Ugwu, a resident of Abuja who works at the headquaters of the Nigerian Prison Service, was nabbed in the state on the June 26. He was arrested with his accomplices, Ifeanyi Ozor, a native of Enugu state and Smart Osetu from Oguta in Imo state
Mr Muhammed Danmallam, the Commissioner of police in the state, while parading the suspects told newsmen that apart from robbery, the superintendent and his gang were also involved in malicious damage, conspiracy, stealing and obtaining by tricks.
Ugwu and his colleagues were caught after the police gathered intelligence information on their activities.
Danmallam further explained that Ugwu and the other suspects were helping the police in their investigations and would soon be charged to court.
