Presidency releases video of Buhari in meeting, after days of speculation

After days of speculation over the heath of President Muhammadu Buhari, the presidency on Saturday, released a video and photos showing moment the President met with the Health Minister, Dr Osagie Ehanire and Director General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Chikwe Ihekweazu, at the Aso Villa in Abuja.

The Presidency in a tweet via its official Twitter handle said the Minister and the NCDC DG visited Buhari to brief him on the current situation of the country’s fight against the deadly coronavirus.

After his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, social media was awash with speculations that the president is sick and had been flown out of the country. The speculation was further fuelled by Buhari’s absence from public space as Nigerians called on him to address the nation amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
