A clash between the police and members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) at Nkwo market, Nnewi, Anambra, on Friday resulted in the death of a police officer and a member of the agitators.
The Biafra agitators had stormed the market in protest to continue with their “no referendum, no 2019 election” stance.
The clash, reports say, occurred as police arrived the scene in three hilux vans and attempted to stop the protesters.
Several vehicles were destroyed in the process, while two people were reported killed.
