Police: Ritualist “Christian” prophets caught with human parts in Ibadan

Men who do nothing but ply the deadly trade of ritual killing are on the prowl in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Authorities say these men do not go about with “I am a ritual killer” tattooed on their foreheads. Rather, they wear the most innocent of disguises – religion.

With this façade, they have wrecked havoc on many, and rendered families bereaved.

Oyo State police said they arrested one of such men in a recent raid on a ritualist hideout at the Owode area of the state.

State police commissioner, Leye Oyebade, said the man confessed to the recent killing of a victim in Ogbomosho.

Three other men were arrested in the raid, Oyebade said while parading the four unnamed suspects on Tuesday.

“The suspects who all disguised as prophets have confessed to the crime,” he said.

The police said the four men were caught with several human body parts in their possession.

The police are expected to charge the suspects to court.

Reports of ritual killings are common in Nigeria’s South-West where police have uncovered several ritualist dens in recent time.

These demonic murderers, reports suggest, are now capitalising on religion to capture naive preys.
