Police re-invite Davido for questioning
The Lagos State Police Command, has revealed the autopsy of Late Tagbo Umeike, a friend of Nigerian music star, Davido.
Acting Police Commissioner, Imohimi Edgal, said Tagbo died from suffocation.
Edgal made the disclosure during a press briefing, on Wednesday in Lagos.
He also disclosed that Davido has been re-invited for questioning over Tagbo’s death. We had earlier reported that Davido had visited the police station last week to detail his own side of events.
It was gathered that the new invitation by the police has to do with fresh revelations. Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, confirmed the latest development.
According to the commissioner, Davido said he was informed of Tagbo’s death by a mutual friend while he was at DNA night Club. Further investigation by the police also revealed that Tagbo was taken to the hospital by Davido’s driver (Tunde Yusuf) and two of Davido’s friends.
The commisioner also said that during investigation, Davido’s driver said they took Tagbo to the General Hospital on the instructions of Davido.
According to the Commissioner, the CCTV footage from the lounge where he drank (Shisha Lounge) in Lekki shows that Tagbo took up to 40 shots of tequila. The footage also showed that he became quarrelsome and violent at some point. The ash coloured corolla which was used to transport Tagbo to the hospital was later recovered from Davido’s residence in Awosike street Lekki phase 1, Lagos.
Tagbo’s body was dumped in a Toyota Camry car infront of the Lagos Island General Hospital by three other associates of Davido.
The incident had gone viral on social media two weeks ago when the deceased girlfriend, former actress, Caroline Danjuma took to her Instagram page accusing Davido of the death of Tagbo.
Since then Davido has come under heavy criticism over his repeated denial of his involvement in the unfortunate incident.
Davido, has reacted to the news circulating online that he was involved in the death of his friend Tagbo Umeike.
With accusations,counter-accusations and alleged autopsy result, Davido has stood his ground that he is innocent of all malicious publications against him.
He wrote, “Lies everywhere due to respect for Tagbo and his family, I haven’t spoken about this issue since.
