Obinna was gunned down last Thursday.

The police officer that pulled the trigger in the murder of a 16-year-old boy last Thursday has been dismissed.

Wilson Ufere, a police Sergeant, was said to have killed the teenager, identified as Obinna Iwuoha, in the Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.

Obinna, a SSS1 student, was reportedly shot when the Sergeant opened fire on a group of youths.

The youths were said to be on a church procession when the incident occurred.

Obinna died instantly, while three others, Tochukwu Uzoukwu, 25, Chukwuebuka Donatus, 24, and Chigozie Iwuala, 28, were severely injured.

The other victims were in a coma for days following the incident.

Police confirmed on Tuesday that Ufere had been made to face disciplinary committee along with his colleagues.

Police spokesperson Andrew Enwerem said the Sergeant was found culpable of the crime and has been dismissed.

Enwerem said, “The police officer has been dismissed from the force. He was found guilty of murder. He is no longer a police officer.
