Police lay siege to Anambra forest after armed robbers escape
Nigerian policemen have laid siege to a forest in Anambra State after suspected armed robbers fled into it.
Police intercepted the robbers, who were believed to be on a dangerous mission, very early on Wednesday.
“Our patrol team on 12th August 2015, at about 12:13am at Oshegbe, Ezza North LGA intercepted a robbery syndicate operating in a Toyota Sienna reg. [ANAMBRA] GDD 273 NL,” the police said in a statement on Thursday.
“The hoodlums were given a hot chase by the Police, but at a point the hoodlums abandoned the vehicle and fled into the bush leaving the car behind.
“On searching the vehicle, one AK-47 rifle magazine with 30 rounds of live ammunition was recovered there in.
“Police operatives are currently combing the bush in a bit to arrest the suspects. State CIID Abakiliki is investigating.”
We hope they find them..
