Police inspector detained at Alagbon over N60,000 bribe
A police Inspector attached to Area K Command in Badagry, Lagos, Okoi Etim, has been arrested and taken to Alagbon.
This comes after he received N60,000 marked money as bribe in one of the hotels in the area.
According to reports, the officer lied to hotel owners using the name of the Area Commander, ACP Hope Okafor, to extort N60,000 each from the hoteliers to enable them operate in the area peacefully.
The hotel association however trapped him with marked money.
He was subsequently caught while he was smiling and counting the money to check if it was complete, and was arrested by detectives.
Okoi is currently detained at Force Criminal Investigation Intelligent Department, FCIID Alagbon Annex in Ikoyi, Lagos.
