PHOTOS: Bomb kills 2 civilian JTF members, 3 others injured in Maiduguri

The continued battle against Boko Haram insurgents has left two Civilian Joint Task Force members dead, with some others lying critically ill in hospitals.

Members of the CJTF were on Sunday, March 26, victims of an explosion that rocked their car.

Chairman for the group, Abba Aji Kalli, said in a statement that the men were returning from an operation when the vehicle climbed on an explosive.

Two died instantly, while three others are receiving treatment at a hospital in Maiduguri.

“Our members of CJTF Dikwa local government on 26th march 2017 on their way coming back from operation climbed on EID and the car exploded, where we lost two of our members and three among them got injured of which are currently receiving treatment at state specialist hospital Maiduguri,” Kalli said.

“We also sympathise with the family of those who lost their lives in the incident.

“Furthermore we convey our appreciation to ICRC for their quick response on the treatment of our members. We pray for those who sustained injuries and quick recovery. May the departed souls rest in peace” he added.
