Peter Obi Urges Nigerians to Unite Against Insecurity, Economic Challenges
In a passionate call to action made via X (formerly known as Twitter) former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi has urged Nigerians to unite against the crippling insecurity and economic woes plaguing the nation. Citing the recent spate of kidnappings, including the abduction of medical students and a state commissioner, Obi declared that it’s time to “declare war” on these challenges.
Obi’s rallying cry comes as Nigeria grapples with escalating violence and economic hardship. He emphasized that bold action, collective resolve, and a united front are necessary to combat these ills.
“We cannot continue living in fear and uncertainty,” Obi said. “It’s time for us to come together and fight for a safer, more prosperous, and just society for all.”

Obi highlighted the recent kidnapping of about 20 dental students from Maiduguri and Jos in Benue State, as well as the abduction of an Anambra State Commissioner and his wife in Edo State, resulting in the death of others traveling with them. He stressed that these incidents are just a few examples of the many tragic events occurring across the country.
Obi’s call to action emphasizes the need for Nigerians to put aside their differences and work together to address the nation’s challenges. He urged citizens to demand more from their leaders and to hold them accountable for the country’s problems.
