Pastor beheads boy, 7, buries him in church altar “to grow congregation” in Ikorodu
A pastor, identified as Adedoyin Oyekan, and his accomplice have been arrested for allegedly killing and beheading a seven-year-old boy in the Ikorodu area of Lagos.
The accomplice, identified as Eric, was a trusted friend of the boy’s father.
Eric reportedly took the boy away on Wednesday, after his father left him in his care. Some residents later saw Eric with a sack dripping with blood on Thursday.
He reportedly dropped the sack and took to his heels, but was caught.
Eric then led his captors to the white garment church, where the boy’s severed head had been buried at the altar.
The pastor reportedly confessed that he was advised to do a ritual to grow his congregation.
Lagos State Police PRO, Olarinde Famous-Cole confirmed the suspects’ arrest.
“The head was buried, while the body was kept in a canal. The case has been transferred to the SCIID for further investigation,” he said.
Police rescued the suspects from getting lynched by an angry mob.
