Pandemonium as Lagos State government commences demolition of houses

Residents of Pen-Cinema area of Agege were this morning thrown into confusion as operatives of Lagos State Task-force accompanied the demolition squad of the State to pull-down houses and shops in the commercial area.

It would be recalled that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State, had earlier announced that works will commence around Pen-Cinema, in a bid to construct an overhead bridge to ease the persistent traffic in that area.

Although the government insists the affected residents were given due notice, the affected people claim that there was no such notice.
