Paltry Salary: 300 graduates dump jobs over poor pay in Kano
At least 300 graduates have given up their jobs as revenue collectors with the Kano Internal Revenue Services (KIRS) due to paltry salary.
Reports say the freshly recruited graduates, totalling 765, had been put on a salary scheme of N35,000 per month.
One of the graduates who resigned from the job faulted the state government’s failure to fulfill some of the promises made to them upon recruitment.
They had reportedly been lured from their former jobs with the promise of a better salary package but ended up being paid N35,000 as graduates.
Officials at the KIRS confirmed that a substantial number of those recently engaged have dumped the job, without notification.
