Osun: Student shot dead in suspected cult war

The Spokesperson of Osun State Police Command, DSP Folashade Odoro has confirmed the death of one Sunday Opeyemi, a student of the Osun College of Technology.

Odoro said a fight broke out between two groups – Alora and Eye fraternity, at about 10a.m on Thursday, March 8, and Opeyemi lost his life during the clash in Esa-Oke.

According to Odoro, Opeyemi was shot dead in his house and his girlfriend took his body to the school gate.

She added that the matter was reported to the police and that police officers immediately visited the scene of the crime.

The police spokesperson said four suspects had been arrested in connection with the incident, but that those arrested were not students of the institution.

She said police personnel were deployed into the school’s premises monitoring the situation and that the Commissioner of Police had ordered discreet investigation into the matter.
