Organizers of Hunger Protest call for Police IG sack
The organizers of the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protests have called for the swift sack of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
The organizing committee made this demand from Lagos on Friday.
This call for the IG’s sack comes in light of the alleged killing of protesters carried out by the Nigeria Police. The #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria Organising Committee made this demand on Friday.

While speaking at a candlelight ceremony held in honour of the victims at the Rights House in Ikeja, Lagos State, a member of the committee and National Spokesperson of the Youth Rights Campaign, Comrade Hassan Taiwo, accused the Police of killing 40 people.
“We are demanding the sacking of the Inspector General of Police,” Taiwo stated.
The claims of the Committee are supported by an Amnesty International report, which claims that 21 protesters were shot by the Police.
