OPINION: Religious Nigerians worse than Boko Haram terrorists

Give the average Nigerian religious person guns, power and guts, then watch them act as bad or more brutal than Boko Haram.
The major difference is that some have guns and ammunition, while the others don’t. The tendency to kill and destroy anyone who doesn’t share same religious ideology with them is a common factor.
The average religious Nigerian is dangerously intolerant!!! They don’t even tolerate themselves within themselves, how much more an “unbeliever”. That’s why a Catholic will hardly want to marry a non-Catholic, even though the person is a Christian.
I seldom talk about my position on religion outside my Facebook posts. But I did on two threads yesterday, and I had a first hand experience of what my atheist friends mean when they tell me about the discrimination they face. The trend is insane!!!
As soon as I said I didn’t believe in the Bible, the countenance changed abruptly. The insults were about to start pouring in, I had to use my block function. I just couldn’t process such level of negativity, simply because I don’t believe in a book which you believe in.
Religion is the worst thing that happened to mankind.
Cultural norms and traditions are jointly the second worst things. And Nollywood helps to promote these and some more idiocies amongst Nigerians..
