A student of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, has died from the injuries he sustained while being chased by SARS operatives on Wednesday, July 11.
Seun Ogunmola and Deborah Iyanuoluwa had allegedly been chased by SARS men over claims that they were fraudsters. The unidentified officials allegedly fled when the fleeing students lost control and crashed their car.
They were later rescued by some bystanders who rushed them to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo.
Seun reportedly died around 10am on Sunday after undergoing a surgery. His death led to a protest by some aggrieved students who embarked on a protest against SARS by barricading the highway leading to the institution.
