Ondo Election: Femi Fani-Kayode says “shame on Jimoh Ibrahim”
The recent judgment by the Appeal Court that Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim be replaced with Mr. Eyitayo Jegede as PDP’s candidate in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Ondo State has elicited myriad of reactions.
One of those reactions was from embattled former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode who mocked Ibrahim in his celebration of Jegede’s victory in Wednesday’s Appeal Court ruling.
“Congrats to Eyitayo Jegede, Gov. Mimiko and the PDP in our victory at the Court of Appeal today. Shame on Ali Modu Sheriff and Jimoh Ibrahim,” he tweeted.

Since the announcement that Jegede will now fly the party’s flag in Saturday’s election, several citizens have taken to the streets of Akure in wild jubilation.
Jimoh Ibrahim has however said he refuses to accept the outcome of the ruling, saying outgoing governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko can’t “succeed himself” by planting Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) as his successor.
“I have read the decision of the Court of Appeal delivered today (Wednesday). We have nothing to lose, as the Supreme Court sits on the same case tomorrow,” Ibrahim said in a statement.
“We shall get justice at the Supreme Court and if PDP wins Saturday election, we shall have our four-year mandate to rule Ondo State.
“Let me advise you not to abuse anyone or fight over this one day ruling. Mimiko will not succeed himself with Jegede. This is too sure.
“We continue with our work and remain in our great party, PDP. I love the great people of Ondo state and I thank you all for continuous support.”
