How We’re Investigating Alleged Pre-filled Result Sheets in Kogi – INEC
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it is currently investigating a report that election results in some polling units in Kogi State have already been filled before the start of the election in the state.
An off-cycle gubernatorial election is ongoing in Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa State.
While polls officially started at 8:35 AM, there have already been allegations of electoral malpractice in some states.
Yiaga Africa, a non-profit civic hub committed to the promotion of democratic governance, claimed that it received a report of pre-filled results sheets discovered in PU 004, Eni Ward of Ogori/Magongo in Kogi state before the commencement of polls in the state.
In response to the report, INEC, in a statement, said:
“Our senior officials deployed to the state are currently investigating the incident(s).”
