Ol’ up ladies! Here’s the secret to long life according to Scotland’s oldest living woman
December 10, 2015

Jessie Gallan is Scotland’s oldest living woman. She’s 109 years old.
When asked what the secret of her longevity was, she gave rather interesting responses.
First, she said she eats porridge every morning.
And then, you can’t believe what she said next.
She has avoided men all her life.
‘My secret to a long life has been staying away from men. They are just more trouble than they are worth,’ she said.
True enough, the old woman has never been married.
And, yes, she exercises every morning. She did say she still enjoys doing that.
And lastly, she said she has maintained a positive outlook throughout her life.
Jessie became Scotland’s oldest woman in June 2013 when Clare Dawson (of Glasgow) passed on at the age 109.
