OGUN: Welder kills mother of seven for mediating in fight with wife
A welder identified as Bidemi Akande has been arrested for pushing a 43-year-old woman, Shakirat Fatusi to the ground, killing her in the process.
Reports say Akande pushed the deceased for mediating in a fight between himself and his wife.
Akande had avoided Shakirat until he met her at his wife’s shop around 11pm last Tuesday.
Shakirat was said to be at the shop to buy pepper soup.
Both sworn enemies reportedly engaged in war of words upon sighting each other, and some derogatory remarks towards Shakirat by Akande led to a scuffle.
He allegedly pushed the deceased who fell to the ground and lost consciousness.
Shakirat, a mother of seven, was pronounced dead at a trado-medical centre.
Akande has been in the custody of police in Ogun since the incident.
