Ogun prophet kills lover for ritual, buries body parts in church

A prophet in Ogun has been arrested for allegedly beheading his lover for ritual.

Olusola Akindele, of the Lion of Judah Church of Christ, Robiyan, was arrested following reports that a decomposing body of an unidentified woman was found in an uncompleted building within the community.

According to the state commissioner of police, Ahmed Ilyasu, investigations led to the arrest of the 42-year-old prophet.

Iliyasu said Akindele confessed that the victim, whom he simply identified as Iya Anu, was his mistress and they had been dating for over two years.

The deceased had on July 30, 2018, visited Akindele at his Assess Road residence in Mosefejo. He was said to have smashed her head with a heavy piece of wood after a lovemaking session.

He allegedly proceeded to sever her head and hands, before dumping her remains in an uncompleted building behind his residence.

He then took the severed head and hands to the Lion of Judah Church of Christ on 13, Robiyan Avenue, where he and his accomplice, Ayodele Bamiduro, buried the body parts.

“On that fateful day, the deceased came to visit him and as usual after they made love, the woman was relaxing,” the police boss said.

“He surreptitiously brought out a pestle-like wood with which he smashed the woman’s head and later cut off her head and two hands before he threw the remains into the uncompleted building behind his residence.”
