Ogun: Abductors of students and staff of Turkish school demand N1.2bn

A N1.2bn ransom has been demanded by the abductors of students and members of staff of the Nigeria Turkish International College (NTIC) in Ogun State, new reports reveal.

The students and teachers of the school were taken away in a white Toyota Hilux vehicle by their abductors about 9:30pm on Friday.

The gunmen were said to have scaled the school’s fence before digging a portion of the fence close to a swamp.

CCTV footage at the school hostel was said to have shown the assailants in masks as they orchestrated their devilish mission. One of them reportedly wore skirt but is suspected to be a man.

Among their victims were three students, three female supervisors, one female cook and a female Turkish teacher.

Two of the abducted students were said to be preparing for the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board exam.

Daily Trust quotes a source as saying the kidnappers “have been using the victims’ phone numbers to call their families. Each time the families try to negotiate, they would end the call.”

Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, AIG Zone 2, Aderanti Kayode and Commissioner of Police, Ogun Command, llliyasu Ahmed have reportedly visited the school and assured that the victims would be freed.
