OAU reopens one month after shutdown

36 days after it was shut due to a crisis, the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile-Ife, has reopened.
A release by the Public Relations Officer of the University, Abiodun Olarewaju, stated that the Senate gave the go-ahead to reopen the institution during a special meeting it held to consider a proposed amendment to this session’s academic calendar.
The university’s senate announced this on Thursday.
It also approved August 3, 2016 for the resumption of screening exercise for the new students.
Old students will be allowed into residence on Sunday, August 7, 2016..
