Nigerians say Fayose should stay away from the protest.

Ekiti State governor, Ayo Fayose has come under heavy criticism for expressing his desire to join in the intended mass protest to be led by 2face Idibia.

Fayose, an unrepentant critic of President Buhari, had tweeted his intention late Tuesday night, “To organisers of Feb. 5  “Enough is Enough” National Protest, you have my total support and I will be part of the protest.”

In another tweet, Fayose said: “2Baba, let it be February 5, 6 or anyday, I will be part of any protest aimed at rescuing our country from dictatorship and nepotism.”

A group which is part of the organisers of the “Enough is Enough” protest was however quick to shut the doors on Fayose, indicating that the governor was part of the government the masses would protest against.

“GovAyoFayose We are also speaking to YOU. FG, State, LG. 2) Education: you owe salaries,” the group said in a series of tweets in response to Fayose.

“GovAyoFayose We are also speaking to YOU. FG,State,LG! 8) Transparency:your govt is NOT transparent,” another tweet read.

Several Nigerians were also of the opinion that Fayose keeps his distance from the protest ground, as they believe he lacks the credibility to do so.

“GovAyoFayose I strongly recommend that U and other politicians stay away. It’s a social crusade; not a political rally. Don’t taint it!,” a user, Adeniyi Pokanu wrote.
