No Telecom Tariff Hike – NCC Assures Subscribers
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) says information regarding a telecommunications tariff hike from January next year is false.
This much was revealed by a top official at the Commission on Sunday.
The Commission urged consumers to disregard the claims making the round.
The official noted that the Nigerian Communications Act ensures that the commission is transparent in its dealings.
He pointed out that, for any hike to be approved, the stakeholders will be consulted and all necessary procedure will be followed.
“These rumours are baseless and misleading. The NCC is committed to protecting consumers and ensuring that any potential tariff changes are communicated clearly and transparently.

“Subscribers can rest assured that no tariff increase has been approved,” the official said.
The Commission used the opportunity to urge all newmen to ensure news information is fact-checked before dissemination.
