Nnamdi Kanu ‘released’ as Biafra protest hits Lagos

Just as the case against the director of the Indigenous Poeple of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, was being dismissed, the pro-Biafra protest ship berthed Lagos.
A Magistrate Court sitting in Abuja, Wednesday, discharged Kanu on all counts of criminal conspiracy and and ownership of an unlawful society filed against him by the Federal Government.
“The accused person is hereby discharged and the case struck out,” the judge said after revealing that the government had dropped the charges against Kanu.
Kanu is not totally free yet though. He is due to appear before a Federal High Court in Abuja, Thursday, for hearing on his bail application in another case.
He has been in the custody of the State Secret Service since his arrest in October.
Meanwhile the Alaba-Ojo axis is the latest venue for the pro-Biafra protest that started recently in Eastern Nigeria.
Hundreds of Biafra agitators were seen, Wednesday, with Biafra flags asking for the unconditional release of their leader..
