Nigeria’s Super Eagles beat Liberia’s Lone Stars 2 – 1 in International ceremonial friendly match

Nigeria’s Super Eagles defeated Liberia’s national football team The Lone Stars 2 – 1 in an International ceremonial friendly on Tuesday night. The game was played at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium in Monrovia which also had the country’s President and former international footballer George Weah as captain of the team.

Hapoel Be’er Sheva midfielder John Ogu captained the Super Eagles in the match that also had George Weah’s former teammate James Debbah on the lineup.

Galatasaray, forward Henry Onyekuru and Crotone striker Simy Nwankwo both scored in the first half for the Eagles while Liberia got a consolatory goal courtesy of a penalty.
