Nigerian Naval officer found dead in his apartment in Kaduna
Naval Lieutenant Commander, Solomon Derikoma was found dead in his apartment Sunday morning at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Kaduna, where he was undergoing training.
Derikoma who hails from Rivers state is said to have been found by some of his colleagues after he failed to show up for a study tour he was expected to participate in.
His colleagues had decided to go to his apartment to fetch him, but his door was locked with padlock, which implied that he was not around. After a long wait and several attempts to reach him on phone proved abortive, they decided to break into the apartment.
It was at this point that they realized that he was already dead for at least two days and may have been murdered, seeing him lying in a pool of blood with a stone beside him.
Police was alerted to the scene and his corpse was removed and deposited in a morgue. The rest of the Naval officers proceeded with the scheduled tour without him.
