Nigeria Army kills five Boko Haram terrorists during ambush in Borno
Some Boko Haram terrorists were intercepted by troops of the Nigerian Army along Bama Road in Maiduguri, Borno State after the Nigerian Army were ambushed by the insurgents on Sunday.
According to reports, the troop from the 222 Battalion, 21 Brigade who were on patrol when the area was ambushed but the troops were able to neutralise the situation after a ”serious exchange of gunfire.”
It is reported that several rifles and rounds of ammunition were recovered from the fleeing insurgents, as the army searched for those who escaped with injuries from gunshots.
On Sunday, the army on its Twitter page said, ”Reports reaching us confirmed that troops of 21 Brigade, led by the Brigade Commander, on a clearance patrol in support of Operation Rainbow were ambushed by Boko Haram along Maiduguri-Bama Road at about 11 am on Sunday.
