#NigeriaDecides2019: INEC finally breaks silence on the outcome of the elections
INEC has finally broken its silence after it went quiet throughout the election yesterday, and still didn’t give Nigerians any update for the most part of today until an hour ago.
The electoral body revealed that the election is still ongoing in some parts of the country, and this begs on whether the election was meant to hold for two days.
People have been waiting for INEC to announce the results after the election as it is expected that the outcome of the polls should be communicated within 24 hours of its conclusion.
From the look of things, it seems like INEC hasn’t started collating the votes. Instead it warned Nigerians through a statement on Twitter to desist from publishing unsubstantiated results.
INEC chairman, Yakubu Mahmood is currently holding a briefing in Abuja to properly address the issue.
