#NigeriaDecides2019: Flooded roads in Lagos validate citizens’ yearn for a working government
The road road in Apongbon, Lagos Island, was heavily flooded after Sunday’s rain.
Many parts of Lagos have become flooded following today’s rain, mirroring one of many reasons Nigerians trooped out to cast their votes for the respective candidates they believe would take their issues to heart.
Bad roads, insecurity, unemployment, poor economy, failing health system, substandard education system and many more are the reasons election periods provide some glimmer of hope for citizens.
All they want is for things to work. For the government to tackle problems effectively and provide better welfare.
When INEC finally announces the winners of Saturday’s poll, citizens would hope they are ready to serve and justify the trust that has been placed in them.
